Introduction
The building and construction industry in WA is busier than ever and has an ongoing need for skilled workers.
There is enormous competition in the employment market and it is vital that the building and construction industry maintains an adequate number of skilled workers for current and future demands.
How can you help?
- If you’re an employer, investigate the possibility of training new apprentices. An apprentice will contribute to the value of your business over time and you will be actively involved in the quality of skills development for the next generation. You may even have someone to take over your business when you retire. There are incentives available to assist employers and to reduce the costs associated with training. The Construction Training Fund can provide eligible employers with incentives of up to $13 800 (+GST) for every new apprentice they employ in their business. In addition, the Commonwealth Government provides incentives of up to $4 400 (inc GST) for each apprentice employed.
If you would like to know more about these and other incentives, contact the Fund on 9244 0100. - Spread the word – tell people what they’re missing out on by not being a part of the biggest and best industry in WA
